Bhimpul

Badrinath dham is believed to be one of the holiest pilgrim spots located in the majestic mountain ranges of the Himalayas in Uttarakhand in the northern part of India. Positioned along the hilly trails of the mountainous Tehri-Garhwal region at an elevation of 10,248 feet from the sea level, the Badrinath temple exists as one of the most exotic places in North India. This famous spot along the Himalayan mountain ranges of Nar and Narayan is home to numerous pilgrimages and interesting sites like the Bhimpul.

On your way to Badrinath you can also visit several other Hindu pilgrim spots including the popular sites of Rudraprayag, Nanda Prayag, Karana Prayag, Vishnu Prayag and Pandukeshwar. At Badrinath the presiding deity of Lord Badrinarayan has been formed out of Saligramam, who is appearing here beneath the badri tree lined by Nar, Narayan, Garuda, Narad and Kuber. The Lakshmi Narasimha temple along with the shrines of Ramanujachary and Desikacharya stands behind the holy shrine of Lord Badrinarayan. Bhimpul is located on one side of the Mana village within 4 km from this holy site of Badrinath. Bhimpul is a naturally-formed bridge of rock situated in the Chamoli District in the Indian state of Uttaranchal lying over the thundering waters of the Saraswati River.

TThe scenic view of the water roaring down along the narrow opening under the Bhimpul mesmerizes everybody. The famous site in Badrinath is considered to be positioned there by the second eldest brother of the Pandavas, Bhim. Mana Village, the last village in India before the Indo-Tibetan border, is also famous for being the site of the historic Vyas Guha where Maharishi Vyas is believed to have lived according to the instruction of Maharishi Kalptaru.
