Horbari Bamak Glacier is located at Rudraprayag district of Uttar Pradesh. It is an important tourist and pilgrimage destination of Gangotri, one of the 4 renowned Chardham Yatra. Horbari Bamak Glacier is 6 kms in length. The origin point of Horbari Bamak Glacier is from the outer slope of Kedar-dorne, Bhartekhunta and Kirti Stambh. This hill range separates Chorbari glacier from the Gangorti group of glaciers.

There are some avalanche chutes and hanging glaciers, which feed Horbari Bamak Glacier. The lower part of Horbari Bamak Glacier is covered by thick debris and it is bounded by Huge deposits of lateral moraines.
Horbari Bamak Glacier starts from the accumulation zone of 600 m and it terminates to an elevation of 3800 m. from this lower elevation point, a snow melted stream originates which is known as Mandakini, which flows through and finally merges to Alaknanda river at Rudraprayag.
Horbari Bamak Glacier can be approached by road till Gaurikhand, via Guptakshi, Rudraprayag and Soneprayag. A foot trek follows from Gaurikhand to the slopes of Kedarnath temple from there, 3 km footpath is there till the snout of Horbari Bamak Glacier. In between the right lateral moraine of Horbari Bamak Glacier and rock face, a lake is formed by Horbari Bamak Glacier which has melted water of the glacier, known as Ganghi Sarovar.
