Tiprabamak Glacier is a glacier of the Bhyundar Ganga basin. 'Bamak' is the local name of glacier. Tiprabamak Glacier is 6 km in length in the Alaknanda catchment. There are about 16 glaciers in the Bhyundar basin with various shape and size. Out of these glaciers, only Tiprabamak Glacier adjoining Ratanban glacier are significant ones. The melted water of these glaciers emerge from a single ice cave from the snout of Tiprabamak. The surface of Tiprabamak Glacier is covered by thick debris.

The upper part of Tiprabamak Glacier can only be approached by through Joshimath-Badrinath road till Govind Ghat. From Govind Ghat, there is 18 kms of bridle path which runs through Bhiundar village and goes up to Ghangaria. The famous valley of flowers is located at a distance of 4 kms from Ghangaria. The valley of flowers is located at the base of the Kagbhusndi range of peaks.
The only place of staying within the vicinity of Tiprabamak Glacier is at Ghangaria. The best time to visit Tiprabamak Glacier is from mid of June to mid of October.
The base fir trekking for Tiprabamak Glacier is at Campgovind Ghat. The distance between Tiprabamak Glacier to Campgovind Ghat is 20 kms, from Campgovind ghat to Ghangaria is 14 kms and from Ghangaria to the famous Valley of Flowers is 4 kms. you can also travel through road. The distance from Govind Ghat to Joshinath is 19 kms, from Govind Ghat to Srinagar is 166 kms and from Srinagar to Rishikesh is 109 kms.
The nearest airport is at Jollygrant, and the nearest railway station is Rishikesh. This place is well connected to Haridwar, Dehradun, Nainital, Rishikesh and Almora. As this place is visited by lots of people both for trekking purposes along with a place of Gangotri pilgrimage, there are suitable accommodations.
