Panch Kedar

Panch Kedar are the five holy sites dedicating for the temple of lord Shiva. Lord Shiva is a mythical god of Hindus. In Hindu mythology, there are many myths circulated in the society that signifies the power and strength of lord Shiva. In Panch Kedar, one can find different temples of Shiva and these temples are formed from different parts of Shiva. The Panch Kedar are known as Kedarnath, Tunganath, Rudranath, Madamaheshwar and Kalpeshwar. Here one can glance through some important things about the Panch Kedar.

Kedarnath:
Kedarnath is a famous Hindu holy town. It is popular as a pilgrimage site of India. There is a elegant temple in the Kedarnath area and it is known as 'Kedarnath temple'. Kedarnath temple is a popular Hindu temple. It is one of the major site of the Panch Kedar. The Kedarnath temple is placed on the top of the Garhwal Himalayan range. Regarding the extreme temperature, the Kedarnath temple is open only between the end of April to the beginning of November.

Tunganath:
It is also counted among the Panch Kedar. It is placed at an altitude of around 3,680 meters from the sea level. It is a lord Shiva temple. Apart from temple, tourists can also find a wide variety of flowers, shrubs and rhododendrons in this region of Tunganath.



Rudranath:
This place is around 23 kilometers away from Gopeshwar. Here one can see the Neelkanth Mahadev. The surrounded site of the temple features picturesque views of the Nanda Devi, Hathi Parvat, Nanda Ghunti, Trishuli and many other beautiful mountain peaks.

Madamaheshwar: It is placed around 30 kilometers from the Guptkashi.

Kalpeshwar:
The temple shrine can be reached by a trekking of 10 kilometers from Rudranath to Helong. In this temple, the Jata (hair locks) of lord Shiva are worshiped. It is a small rock temple dedicating lord Shiva.
